RAMS MAY FACE COMPETITION

Derby County will face competition from NEC Nijmegen if they want to make David Jones' loan deal a permanent transfer.

The Rams signed Jones on an initial loan from Manchester United last week with a view to a £1million deal in January.

However NEC, where Jones spent a loan spell last season, have also expressed an interest in the midfielder's signature.

Technical director Leen Looyen told De Gelderlander: "I am still in contact with David Jones in order to retain the possibility of bringing him to NEC.

"He has provisionally opted for Derby County, who are prepared to pay 1.7 million euros for him."
